Bark Hut

My new boots and jacket arrived this past week so this was a good excuse to go to the Bark Hut on the Arnhem Highway to test them for comfort and warmth.

Fred & I left the United servo at 0730, Sunday 15th. I deliberately did not wear the thermals or the jacket liner to test the jacket :-).

New Touring Jacket
We went through about 10k of reasonably heavy mist/fog. As Fred did not have anything warm under his jacket he froze :-) Water seeped through his jacket to chill him down even further.
Whence we came

My jacket was waterproof and even without the thermal liner I was cool and not cold like the last run. Except for my fingers that is !!!  Even with the thermal gloves on !!!

These shots were after we had travelled through the heavy mist/fog and at the end of the Adelaide River flood plains.

Not too many curves on this stretch of road as you can see. Not too many clouds either..

We were the only motorcyclists at the Bark Hut. I expected to see a few Hardley's there. Must have been too cold for them :-)

The coffee was average. Weak and warm and that's the best way to describe it. The ride there was great !!

Cool Rider
Fred loves his BM and was, as usual, the camera man for the trip. Compared to my bike his is like a comfortable rocket armchair. Goes well as well as being a relaxed ride.

The ride back was uneventful as the mist/fog had lifted and we were able to travel at a good pace.

Mission Successful !!  The Touring Jacket was excellent and the boots comfortable. Another great ride done :-)
