Edith Falls Run

Decided to go to Edith Falls for a run. The excuse ?? Colin's new bike. A Yamaha XVS 1100 Cruiser. Fred, myself, Kevin & Co and Colin & Louise left The servo on Vanderlin Drive at 0700 on Sunday morning. I had on thermal longjohns etc as a test before my ride to Tassie.

First stop was Adelaide River. Travelling at about 110k/ph it was FREEZING !!!  The Adelaide River stop was to warm up briefly and I ended putting my thermal gloves inside my riding gloves. Much better !!

On the Road

Emerald Springs was recommended by the AR locals
as a good place for breakfast so that was the next stop.

A hot breakfast with 2 mugs of coffee warmed things up a little and then it was on th Pine Creek to refuel. I had about 260km on the trip meter and as Ididn't trust the fuel gauge I added 11l of fuel.

Kevin & Co left us and headed back to Darwin and the three bikes headed down to Edith Falls. It was nice to have a few curves on the road for a change.

Fred raced ahead on quite a few occasions and then waited for us to pass him holding a movie camera like Cecil B DeMill :-)

Well Dressed Bikers

Edith River called for an XS Energy drink and then a dip in the springs (COLD!!!)

Fred decided that he was cool enough sitting in the shade and that we were the ones to test the water's temperature !!

COOL CLEAR WATER

On the run back to Darwin we stopped again at Adelaide River for a cooling ice cream and soft drink. Noonamah was selected as the next fuel stop which saw the Yamaha 1100 run out of fuel 30k out of Noonamah.

Luckily I had a spare 2l with me. As it was I covered the 320k from Edith to Noonamah with a litre to spare even though the fuel light had been flashing for the last 5ks.

The net stop was at Grandma's for a mug of tea and a delicious piece of apricot pie.

Back home at about 5pm after a fantastic days riding. Looking forward to the next one :-)
