Had to drop off the bike to Peter Stevens here in Melbourne because of the cutting out problems it's had the last couple of days. They were able to take the bike straight away. I received a call an hour later from them to say that there was a problem with the stator on the bike. I went there and had a look. Apparently when they tested the bike the voltage would drop to 10.5v when the engine revs were reduced. This would cause the motor to cut out while normal running would produce 13.5v.

It looks as if I may have a problem getting the bike back before 1500 tomorrow :-( as they have to express the part required from Sydney.

Blast !!!

  1. Buggar. Will you be able to postpone the ferry trip, or will you lose that. Surely not. Just later arriving in Tassie by a couple of days. Hope thats all the mechanical problems sorted now. Fingers crossed.X

  2. Crikey father!! Well at least you have company to keep ... you ... company...!! Yeh, as Fred said, is that gonna jeopardize your ferry trip/ticket if the bike isnt ready? Sounds like you're having a rough trot, but I bet you wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Anyways will try to speak to you tomorrow!! Love ya's!!

  3. Pretty sure you can postpone your ferry ride till end of week at the latest. Worst case scenario, you might need to fly back toAdelaide and start to trip on the new bike. Lets hope you don't need to do that. Everything has tried and failed to stop you so far so i am sure this will be another test. Kate will ( as we all know she will) look into the ferry options. We all have our fingers crossed for you.
